While K. Michelle’s “Can’t Raise A Man” continues to gain radio spins, the singer gets busy with new music.
Over the past few days, the Memphis native has been sharing small details about her sophomore album via her Instagram. So far, K. Michelle has recruited Atlantic Records singer-songwriter Sevyn Streeter. “My baby @Sevyn just killed this record for my album. Amazing writer,” K. Michelle wrote.
Last year, Streeter joined K. Michelle’s “Rebellious Soul Tour.” We can only assume that the two came up with the idea to collaborate while on the road together. Nonetheless, it will be interesting to see what Streeter and K. Michelle come up with in the studio. Streeter has already written for major artists like Chris Brown (“Yeah 3x”), Fantasia (“Get It Right”), Alicia Keys (“New Day”) and Brandy (“Slower”), among others.
K. Michelle also revealed that she has been in the studio working with Stacy Barthe. Like Streeter, Barthe is also a seasoned songwriter. She has written for artists such as Britney Spears, Rihanna, Kelly Rowland, Brandy and Katy Perry.
K. Michelle released her debut album “Rebellious Soul” in August 2013. The album debuted at N0. 2 on the Billboard 200, selling over 70,000 copies in its first week of sales.
