2. Brandy – “Almost Doesn’t Count”
“Never settle for less than you deserve” is a piece of advice that many people give to those going through a rough relationship. Still yet, many of us find ourselves settling below the line of our standards or giving more and receiving less. Brandy lets us know in her 1998 hit that almost doesn’t count and you can’t love with one foot outside the door–you’re either all in or you’re all out. At the end of the soft ballad, Brandy comes to the reality that “that’s the way it goes, almost doesn’t count” and tells her lover “maybe I’ll be here, maybe I’ll see you around.”
