Mary J. Blige plans to release her album “The London Sessions” soon but it won’t be disturbed via Geffen Records. The album will probably be issued with an imprint of Capitol Music Group, according to reports.

On Wednesday (July 23), Capitol Records, which is associated with CMG, held their Second Annual Capitol Congress to celebrate their recent success (Sam Smith) and the upcoming ventures for the label group. In addition, it was announced that Mary J. Blige was the label group’s latest signee.

Blige’s recent label news doesn’t come as a surprise, though. The “Power Back” artist, who has been aligned with Geffen Records since the merge of MCA Records in 2003, hasn’t released a full-length studio album under her previous label home since 2011’s “My Life II: The Journey Continues (Act 1).”

Her last two projects, “A Mary Christmas” (Verve Music Group) and the “Think Like A Man Too” soundtrack (Epic Records) have all been released under other record labels.

While the reason for Mary’s departure hasn’t been announced, we congratulate her for making a necessary and positive move for her thriving career.
