After delivering a solid body of work in 2012 with “Two Eleven,” vocal bible Brandy has confirmed exciting news that she is in the studio crafting new music.
Brandy has been feeding listeners with a few teasers with her recent collaboration on Chris Brown’s “X” album with their duet “Do Better” and her brilliant cover of ColdPlay’s “Magic,” possibly hinting that the singer has been in the works on some new music of her own. Now that the singer has confirmed a new project, our minds can be at ease knowing that the new music is on the way. Brandy sat down with That Grape Juice to let listeners in on a few details.
“It’s really interesting because I’m really embracing and open to a new direction, a new sound,” says Brandy. “I’m really challenging myself to just be different and not be afraid to just…not put myself in a box, just try new things and I just want to see what happens.”
Brandy says that her music will be different because she is in a different place in her life and in a different mental space. “I want to sing through that space, music is therapeutic for me.” With her recent departure from her ex-fiance Ryan Press, this new album will set the platform for the 35-year-old singer to be transparent with her fans about her personal life, which the singer normally keeps out of the public eye. Brandy reveals that this project is very special for her and she wants it to be just right.
