Congratulations are in order for Chris Brown. His fifth single, “New Flame,” from his X album, has topped the Billboard charts this week.
The Usher and Rick Ross assisted track knocks Rich Gang’s song “Lifestyle” from the top slot on the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart and rises from No. 2 to No. 1 in its 14th week on the chart.
The Virginia native’s last time scoring a No. 1 single as a solo artist on the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart was back in 2011 with “Look at Me Now” featuring Busta Rhymes and Lil’ Wayne.
Brown’s bouncy track “Loyal” featuring everyone from Lil’ Wayne and French Montana to Tyga and Too $hort peaked at No. 5 on this particular chart.
In other news, Chris Brown and Trey Songz released a joint mixtape called TRGA X BRZY, which has received rave reviews from fans and critics.
