Danity Kane’s final album DK3 hasn’t been in stores for a week yet and Dawn Richard has already announced plans for her own project.
Slated to release on January 15, 2015, Blackheart, the follow-up to her 2013 album Goldenheart, will find Richard crooning a “completely different sound.”
She tells Billboard.com that the new album will follow along the lines of her 2013 studio effort “lyrically and storytelling-wise.” However, the creative singer makes it clear that she “wanted each album to stand on its own, and have a cohesive story. The story in itself is about my journey throughout the music industry, and the love, the hate, the redemption and the whole thing in between.”
Additionally, Richard discloses that her Blackheart album is “purely falling into the electronic world, and pushing the envelope.”
Along with the announcement of her forthcoming album, the “86” artist released the visual for the project’s lead track “Blow.”
