After dropping out of Iggy Azalea’s postponed Great Escape Tour, Tinashe reveals her plans to release a new mixtape. Amethyst, which is named after Tinashe’s birthstone, is the follow-up to her debut album, Aquarius.
Tinashe isn’t wasting any time neither. The California native will release her new project on March 16.The seven-track mixtape should hold over fans while Tinashe and her team plot their next move.
Last week, she independently released a visual for “Bated Breath,” which appears on Aquarius. “I don’t like to sit around waiting for people to do things for me,” she tells W Magazine. “So when I know my label’s not going to produce music videos, I’ll either make them myself or I’ll find people that I think are cool and reach out to them directly. I’m like, ‘F*ck it. I’ll just do it.’”
