As August Alsina gears up to release his sophomore album, This Thing Called Life, he releases a trailer for his new song “Song Cry.” The emotionally-charged trailer was co-directed by Payne Lindsey and Alsina. The clip shows Alsina and family at a funeral on a gloomy, rainy day.
“There’s so much pain that lies within my eyes like my brother’s demise,” he says. “These tears, I just can’t hide. I cry ’cause every rose needs the rain. See, because some things money just can’t change like my new life and all this fame…every night I pray for rain to wash away this pain.”
This Thing Called Life is scheduled to release later this year via NNTME/Def Jam. Last month, he released a visual for his Lil Wayne-assisted single “Why I Do It.”
