Brandy has released a visual for her new single “Beggin & Pleadin.”
Directed by Mike Ho, the clip takes us back to the roaring 20s and features a special appearance from Brandy’s younger brother Ray J.
“This particular song is freedom…freedom, liberty, to express myself in the most interesting [and] edgiest way possible,” Brandy explained.
“I just like the way it makes me feel when I hear it and I like the way it sounds when I hear it back. It feels like I’m listening to somebody else and not me. That’s what makes it different…It makes me feel bossy…I just feel empowered by it. I feel empowered by the story. I feel empowered by the production.”
Earlier this month, Brandy performed “Beggin & Pleadin” for the first time on television at BET’s Black Girls Rock!
In other news, Brandy has been in a legal battle with her label Chameleon Entertainment Group. The label’s CEO Breyon Prescott has allegedly refused to allow Brandy to release new music and allegedly tried to force her to sign a deal with Epic Records.
