R&B newcomer Bernard Flowers is giving us a glimpse into his world in his two-part documentary series The Escape. During the intimate interview, he details about his upbringing in Memphis, Tenn. that has inspired him to escape to pursue his dreams.
“Where we come from, it’s kinda like my music doesn’t represent that because in the studio I’m trying to create a world that I don’t have,” he says. “I’m trying to create a world that I think is ideal for me and my people.”
Flowers’ two-part documentary is accompanied by the visual to his debut single “This Feeling,” which was filmed in Atlanta. The Gerard Victor-directed visual captures Flowers setting up a romantic evening for his girlfriend.
