Electronic soul duo KaraJishi (Elijah Blake and Ben Strick) joined the madness of New Music Friday with the full-length release of their debut EP Realm.
Made up of five sensationally refreshing tracks, the project includes their superficial track “Killin Mine” and their magical introduction “Give Up the Ghost.” Their trap soul collaboration “Charlie” is easily a favorite while “You, Tonight” and “Saturn” don’t fall far behind.
Strick shared the intention behind him and Blake uniting to form KaraJishi. “We really want to push the boundaries of what modern pop music can be,” he said. “We’d like to change the game a little, by combining our two styles and making this music accessible. We’re mixing Elijah’s R&B side with my sort of weird, progressive metal and rock, to make something completely new.”
