Usher is back to shake the table. The Grammy-winning crooner has released a new project titled, A, two years after Hard II Love.
Co-written and co-produced by Zaytoven, the eight-track project comes just two days before Usher’s 40th birthday. Running for a mere 30 minutes, A rides the current wave of trap soul, with guest appearances from Future and Gunna.
Speaking on the “organic” conception of A, Usher told Apple Music, “We did not plan on making an album. I don’t think it was one song or moment where we realized. Stuff was just coming out. Zaytoven worked on a lot of tracks in the moment based off our conversations.”
With his new work, Usher hopes listeners hear and “feel the freedom of where we were when we were creating it.”
He continued, “I want them to feel the spontaneity of what happened. I want them to celebrate with me knowing this is a soundtrack for an amazing moment that just happened between me and Zaytoven.”
