Uncle Charlie Wilson is back. The legendary singer has teamed up with Bruno Mars for his infectious new single titled “Forever Valentine.”
Co-written and co-produced by Mars (with additional contributions from The Stereotypes and D. Mile), “Forever Valentine” is about celebrating love throughout the year, not just on Valentine’s Day.
“I don’t need the 14th to show how much you mean to me,” Wilson sings.
Speaking on the story behind his collaboration with Mars, Wilson told Billboard, “I’ve been having so much fun with this record. We talked about the song’s vibe for a while, put a chorus down and then didn’t see each other for a while. Then we ended up on the road together. We’d sing every day at lunch time as we further hashed out the song.”
Mars shared his excitement about the record on his Instagram. “The world could use a little love right about now and who better to bring it to you than one of the greatest of all time,” he wrote. “Uncle @imcharliewilson. I had the Honor to produce and sing a little background for him with my Bro’s @stereotypestv and @dmile85.”
