MAJOR. has always been a forerunner for inspirational and positive R&B. On his uplifting new song “Doves Cry,” the Grammy-nominated crooner guides his soft-focused tone across production by Harmony Samuels to give fans an optimistic outlook despite the world’s current turmoil.
In an Instagram interview with DeVanté Arbe of The Gospel Guru, MAJOR. breaks down the message behind his new song.
“Oftentimes we trivialize hope but we don’t understand how powerful it is as an anchor in the midst of craziness,” MAJOR. explained to Arbe over Instagram live. “The message that I want to convey through ‘Doves Cry’ and everything that I do is that, ‘Hope is not the denial of reality, but hope is the commitment to believe greater is on the other side of it. When you do that, you’ll understand what faith is.”
By the looks of a recent post tied to “Doves Cry,” it seems that MAJOR. is working on a follow-up to 2018’s Even More. He wrote, “I put my heart, soul, & money behind this project! You will NOT be disappointed.”
Even More featured the Latin-infused “Love Me Ole,” the lovey “Better With You in It,” and the Grammy-nominated “Honest.” Last year, MAJOR. recruited Brandy for the expanded edition of the title track.
