R&B legend Usher has teamed up with R&B newcomer Kiana Ledé for a new song titled “This Day.”
The uplifting track will appear in Netflix’s upcoming holiday musical, Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey, which premieres on November 13. The two singers share feel-good vibes with their of courage and strength.
“Even though life’s been knocking me down / I have to figure it out / See my way through the doubt / And when it seems I’m lost / Turn and found my way,” Usher sings. Ledé adds, “No I won’t give up, I won’t give in / ‘Cause the day that you run might be the day that you win.”
The accompanying soundtrack is set to release on the same day as the film and will feature original music from John Legend.
According to Netflix, Jingle Jangle “follows legendary toymaker Jeronicus Jangle (Academy Award winner Forest Whitaker) whose fanciful inventions burst with whimsy and wonder. But when his trusted apprentice (Emmy winner Keegan-Michael Key) steals his most prized creation, it’s up to his equally bright and inventive granddaughter (newcomer Madalen Mills) — and a long-forgotten invention — to heal old wounds and reawaken the magic within.”
