Leon Bridges has teamed up with Jazmine Sullivan for his new song “Summer Rain.” It arrives as a bonus track on Gold-Diggers Sound (Deluxe), out now via Columbia Records.
Over a relaxed production, laced with guitar licks and a faint bassline, Bridges and Sullivan sing about a chemistry between two lovebirds.
“You are everything / Wanna feel you all around / Wanna feel your summer rain / Keep coming down,” they harmonize.
“Summer Rain” is the only new song featured on Gold-Diggers Sound (Deluxe). Bridges released the original edition of Gold-Diggers Sound in July. It features appearances from Robert Glasper, Terrace Martin and Ink.
In an interview with Rated R&B, Bridges shared what he hoped listeners would take away from the album.
“I want people to simply be intrigued by the music. This album encapsulates the multifaceted aspects of life, the peaks, and the valleys of life,” he said. “There’s moments there where I’m very honest about some of my struggles. I want people to be able to utilize these songs and their experiences in life. I hope that the songs simply resonate with the audience.”
