Rising singer-songwriter Montell Fish has released his new project, Her Love Still Haunts Me Like a Ghost. It’s the follow-up to his debut album, JAMIE, which dropped in July.
Her Love Still Haunts Me Like a Ghost contains seven tracks, including the previously shared “Hotel.”
Where JAMIE examines the early stage of the grieving process, Her Love Still Haunts Me Like a Ghost begins to explore the second stage of grief: anger.
Production-wise, the EP is more unrefined than its predecessor. It’s ladened with abrasive synths and more rock-leaning stylings.
Fish refers to Her Love Still Haunts Me Like a Ghost as a transitional project. “It’s essentially a sequel to JAMIE and a prequel to my next albums, CHARLOTTE and MARSHALL,” he explained.
“All three albums are loosely tied to the theme of grief and the emotions felt throughout the grieving process. JAMIE was centered around denial and isolation, whereas CHARLOTTE is more about anger, so the new EP is kind of a bridge between those emotions.”
Fish is currently on the road supporting his new project on his headlining A Night with a Ghost Tour, which launched Oct. 28.
He will play in major North American cities, including Brooklyn, Toronto, Houston and Los Angeles, before concluding Nov. 20 in San Fransisco.
