PARTYNEXTDOOR has returned with a new song, “Resentment,” his second release of the year.
The self-produced track will appear on his upcoming album, PARTYNEXTDOOR 4, arriving later this summer.
“What be goin’ through your mind? / Stayin’ out past five / And you know you gon’ get checked for it / Respect’s what I need, but don’t get / All that I do is resent you now,” he sings in the chorus.
“Resentment” is the follow-up to “Her Old Friends,” released in January. The song was co-produced by OG Parker, G.Ry, Nuki Beats and Candychyld.
In late 2022, the Canadian singer-songwriter joined forces with Diddy for a spicy bop, “Sex In The Porsche.” Earlier that year, he partnered with OG Parker for “No Fuss.”
It’s been three years since PARTYNEXTDOOR released an album. In March 2020, he released PARTYMOBILE on OVO Sound. The album included features from Drake, Rihanna and Bad Bunny. The latter artist appeared on the remix of “Loyal” featuring Drake.
PARTYMOBILE debuted at No. 2 on Billboard’s Top R&B Albums and No. 8 on the Billboard 200 charts. Later that fall, PARTYNEXTDOOR released his PARTYPACK project, which contained previously unreleased songs.
In January 2021, he made his fan-favorite COLOURS project available on streaming platforms. The eight-track project featured collaborations with Travis Scott and Ca$h Out.
Circling back to PARTYNEXTDOOR 4, it’s the fourth installment of PND’s album series, which he launched in 2013. Since then, he’s released PARTYNEXTDOOR TWO in 2014 and PARTYNEXTDOOR 3 in 2016.
