Avery*Sunshine has a lot on her mind and she lays it all out on her new single “I Wonder.”
Over a smooth production, helmed by Jamison Ross and Dana “BigDane” Johnson, Sunshine ponders the longevity of a relationship.
“Sometimes I wonder / Could it be a spell that I’m under / Could it be this good for life / I wonder will it be a love for all time / I don’t wanna overthink but / Sometimes I wonder,” she sings in the chorus.
Speaking on the track, Avery*Sunshine tells Rated R&B: “‘I Wonder’ is that song where you find yourself questioning whether or not you’re too happy.”
She continues, “After all the bad relationships you’ve had, you finally get the relationship that blows your mind and you can’t stop wondering if it’s going to last. Is it real? Is the other shoe going to drop? It’s the when-you’re-honest-about-not-trusting-your-feelings kind of song.”
“I Wonder,” which Sunshine co-wrote with Rob Milton and BigDane, is the follow-up to “Lifted Up,” released in January. Both songs will appear on her upcoming fifth album, So Glad To Know You, which will release on BigShine Recordings.
According to press materials, “The album finds Sunshine digging deep and taking a journey through the ebbs and flows of truly getting to know yourself and the ones you love around you.”
So Glad To Know You will follow Sunshine’s 2022 album, Four Songs & a Bootleg.
