Muni Long was the musical guest on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Tuesday night. The Grammy-winning singer performed her current single “Made For Me.”
Clad in a blue silk suit, Long delivered a stripped-down rendition of the sentimental tune with the song’s co-producer, Jordan XL, on the piano.
Long’s performance on The Tonight Show comes on the heels of “Made For Me” making more strides on multiple Billboard charts.
At the time of publication, “Made For Me” is No. 1 for a fourth week on R&B Digital Song Sales, No. 2 on R&B Streaming Songs, No. 3 on Hot R&B Songs, No. 5 on Adult R&B Airplay, and No. 23 on the Hot 100.
On the latter chart, “Made For Me” is Long’s second-highest peak of her three entries. Her personal best was with her Grammy-winning hit “Hrs & Hrs,” which peaked at No. 16 on the Hot 100.
“Made For Me,” produced by Jermaine Dupri, Bryan-Michael Cox and Jordan XL, was released in September 2023 via Super Giant Records/Def Jam Recordings.
In mid-January, Long debuted the official video directed by Des Gray and Trinidad James. The sci-fi-inspired visual co-stars fellow R&B singer and actor Luke James.
“I wanted to have fun with this video and really think outside of the box. It’s my little nod to A.I. mixed with Frankenstein,” Long explained. “If you want to find the perfect person in a limited dating pool, you might just have to create them! It’s only science fiction for now but with how fast technology is changing could this be our reality someday?”
“Made For Me” is the lead single from Long’s forthcoming album, the follow-up to her 2022 debut, Public Displays of Affection: The Album.
