Boyz II Men will have their story told on screen. The legendary R&B group has announced they are developing a biopic movie that will chronicle their three-decade-spanning career.
The upcoming biopic will be produced by Compelling Pictures and financed by Primary Wave Music. Boyz II Men’s current members — Nathan Morris, Shawn Stockman, and Wanya Morris — are on board as executive producers.
Aside from the biopic film, Compelling Pictures will also produce an accompanying documentary that explores the group’s reign from the 1990s to the 2000s and their enduring longevity.
“We’re officially partnering with Compelling Pictures and Primary Wave to bring our journey to the big screen in a musical biopic and a documentary,” Boyz II Men said.
They continued, “We’ve waited a long time to find partners who truly understand us, and we’re thrilled that Compelling Pictures are just as passionate about sharing our story. We’ll be sharing the highs, lows, and everything in between that shaped who we are today.”

According to Variety, Denis O’Sullivan and Jeff Kalligheri of Compelling Pictures “are in early talks with writers and directors and are fast-tracking the film.”
O’Sullivan and Kalligheri said in joint statement, “Having grown up as huge fans of Boyz II Men, and having spent the past couple of years getting to know the guys and become friends with them, it’s a tremendous honor to help bring their unique and untold story to the big screen.”
They continued, “We’re excited to show the brotherhood and comradery, as well as the challenges and strife, humor and heartbreak, that has accompanied the unparalleled success that Nate, Shawn, Wanya, and Mike have worked so hard to achieve. And we think the global audience will want to sing along to a sexy, funny, aspirational, uplifting celebration of friendships and artistic partnerships that have stood the test of time. Doom-doom-doom-da-da….”
Boyz II Men’s manager Joe Mulvihill, added, “Being with them for over 22 years now, I’ve seen the highs the lows and all the in-depth emotional human turmoil. I think people will be pleasantly surprised to see behind the curtain.”
In other news, Boyz II Men recently released “It’s Christmas Time (In Cleveland Heights)” with Travis Kelce and The Philly Specials, a trio consisting of NFL players Lane Johnson, Jason Kelce, and Jordan Mailata.
“Our manager (Joe Mulvihill) was talking to Travis at the Derby when he heard about The Philly Special Christmas project,” said Boyz II Men’s Nathan Morris.
“Emily (Jason’s Manager) called about this project too. Joe shared the details with us, including the charitable aspect and we felt like we just had to be a part of the project. Fast forward a few months later and we are singing along with those crazy Kelce brothers. We had a great time, and we hope everyone enjoys the song.”
