Yola performed “Diamond Studded Shoes” on Jimmy Kimmel Live! The remote performance, taped at Nashville’s Easy Eye Studio, showcased the singer-songwriter in her element.
With a guitar in hand and a soulful twang in her voice, she sang the rocking blues cut with passionate grit alongside a four-person band.
Speaking on the featured song, Yola said, “This song explores the false divides created to distract us from those few who are in charge of the majority of the world’s wealth and use the ‘divide and conquer’ tactic to keep it. This song calls on us to unite and turn our focus to those with a stranglehold on humanity.”
“Diamond Studded Shoes” appears on Yola’s latest album, Stand For Myself, released in July via Easy Eye Studio/Concord.
She is gearing up for a series of festival performances and to play select dates on Chris Stapleton’s rescheduled 2021 tour.
