In between securing major songwriting placements for music’s biggest names (Beyoncé, Ariana Grande, Summer Walker), Nija, who has contributed to Grammy-winning albums and songs, has her eyes set on embarking on her solo journey. The result is her debut single, “Ease My Mind (Come Over).”
On the song, which has an instrumental and rhythm reminiscent of drill music, Nija hopes the person she’s currently seeing can help relax her following her grind away from home.
Speaking on the creation of the song, Nija stated, “This song is about those times when you’ve had a long day, maybe stressed out from work, and you just want to get your mind off things with that special person at the end of the day.”
The song’s coinciding visual, directed by Child, is introspective and beautifully colored. While waiting for her man to stop by, viewers are taken through different Nija’s dream world set up.
“Ease My Mind (Come Over)” is the first taste of her forthcoming debut project scheduled for release this fall.
