R&B/soul heavyweights Erykah Badu and D’Angelo have been named as the headliners for the 2013 Summer Spirit Festival. The concert will take place on Saturday, August 3 at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, MD.
Other artists scheduled to perform this year include Busta Rhymes, Rare Essence, Black Alley, and Hiatus Kaiyote, among others.
Badu also co-headlined the festival last year along with conscious rapper Common.
We’re hoping Badu comes out with new music this year. It’s been three years since she released an album. On the other hand, D’Angelo is working on his comeback album, tentatively titled James Rivers.
Tickets for the Summer Spirit Festival will go on sale Friday, May 3.
