R&B singers Syleena Johnson and Musiq Soulchild have joined forces to release a joint album titled “9NINE.” The newly formed duo just premiered the reggae tune “Feel The Fire” as the lead single off the album.
The “9NINE” project, due in stores on July 9, came together after Johnson and Soulchild recorded a duet for reggae producer Kemar McGregor’s compilation album.
“The music was so good, and [Musiq and I] both love Kemar’s production so we’re just like, ‘Why don’t we just do [an album] together?'” Johnson tells Billboard.
“9NINE,” composed of nine songs, was recorded by Johnson and Soulchild in just nine days .”[The album] is about love, happiness and peace,” Johnson adds.
