Omarion’s latest single, “Taking Off,” featuring BJRNCK, has landed on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart (dated March 30).

The Greg Curtis-produced track opens at No. 28 on the chart led by Maeta’s “Through The Night.”

“Taking Off” is Omarion’s second song in four months to debut on the Adult R&B Airplay chart. His 2023 single “Serious” debuted during the week of Nov. 11, 2023, and peaked at No. 18 in January.

Furthermore, the bedroom jam is Omarion’s fourth entry on the chart. Here is a breakdown:

  • “I’m Tryna,” No. 35 peak (2005)
  • “Entourage,” No. 35 peak (2006)
  • “Serious,” No. 18 peak (2024)
  • “Taking Off” featuring BJRNCK, No. 28 peak so far (2024)

At R&B radio this week, “Taking Off” moves from No. 31 to No. 25 with 351 spins and 700,000 audience impressions.

Speaking on the song, Omarion told Rated R&B, “‘Taking Off’ is one of those traditional R&B records that has that great mixture of past and future time. It’s not one of those records that feels so raunchy or this type of surface-level intimacy. It lends to that past time when you can put this on in the bedroom and really dive deep into making love with someone.” He added, “‘Taking Off’ is one of those classic R&B lovemaking songs.

“Taking Off” appears on Omarion’s latest album, Full Circle: Sonic Book Two. “I want people to recognize how powerful music is and manage the people they allow into their mind [and] space,” Omarion told Rated R&B, when asked what he hopes listeners take away from the album. “I also want people to enjoy the music on a surface level [and] deeper level. I want them to consider me a hallmark of good vibrations, someone they can trust with their sonic diet.”

Sonic Book Two was the second album Omarion released in 2023, following Sonic Book One.

On April 5, Omarion will kick off his Vbz on Vbz Tour in Grand Prairie, Texas. He will be joined by supporting acts Vedo, Tone Stith, Jastin Martin and WanMor.

The Vbz on Vbz Tour will make stops in Washington, D.C., Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Philadelphia and more, before concluding May 19 in Atlanta.
