Black Music Honors 2024 Performers Announced: CeeLo Green, Marsha Ambrosius, Tone Stith and More

There ceremony will be taped live Saturday, May 18, in Atlanta.

The Black Music Honors has announced more performers for its 9th annual ceremony, which will be taped live Saturday, May 18, in Atlanta, Georgia.

The star-studded lineup features familiar R&B voices, including Marsha Ambrosius, Chrisette Michele, CeeLo Green, Ruben Studdard, BLK ODYSSY, and J. Brown. R&B groups After 7, Total, 702, and Next will also grace the stage. 

Speaking of R&B groups, the newly formed collective The Chi (Carl Thomas, Dave Hollister, and Syleena Johnson) will make their award show debut. 

Previously announced R&B performers include Chanté Moore, Shanice, and Tone Stith.

Additionally, the event will feature performances by gospel/inspirational acts such as Mali Music, Kevin Lemons & Higher Calling, Ricky Dillard, and Donald Lawrence. David and Tamela Mann will also make a special appearance.

Hosted by LeToya Luckett and Deray Davis, the 2024 Black Music Honors will celebrate Johnny Gill (R&B Soul Music Icon Award), Patrice Rushen (Lifetime Achievement Award), Bootsy Collins (Legend Award), and Hezekiah Walker (Gospel Music Icon Award).

“For the past 9 years, Black Music Honors has surrounded and supported the amazing artists who have entertained millions,” said Don Jackson, Black Music Honors founder and executive producer.

“This year’s celebrants are trailblazers and deserve to be honored. We are extremely proud to bring more visibility to these tremendous icons who have stayed the course from humble beginnings to careers that span decades. Their lives and stories are part of the beautiful tapestry of Black music…which has impacted the globe.”

The 2024 Black Music Honors will air on the Stellar Network on Saturday, June 1, at 8 p.m. ET and in national broadcast syndication from June 9 through June 30 as part of Black Music Month. The ceremony will also air on June 19 at 9 p.m. ET on Bounce TV.
