Chrisette Michele is back with her new single “Home.”

Greeted with live instrumentation, Michele celebrates her musical return after going on a hiatus.

“Been a long road / Shoulda never left / Almost lost my soul / But now look at where I’m at / I’m home / Back on the soil I was grown on / Back with the people that I belong,” Michele sings.

Regarding her new single, Michele shares, “The upbeat, horn-filled, soulful tunes will put a smile on anyone’s face. The new lyrics came straight from heaven to my heart.”

She continues, “My hope is that people will feel the joy I feel in my heart and sing along. There’s been enough heartbreak. Pain is just a season; it’s not forever. I finally feel ‘At Home’ on the stage… I’ve waited for this feeling for a long time.”

“Home” is Chrisette Michele’s first solo musical release since 2020’s “Wait.” Of the encouraging track, Michele said, “I hope the lyrics in the song ‘Wait’ bless you. Listen to it for YOU. Hear the words for YOU. All the chatter in your pretty little mind, all the worry and fear. Let it melt away.”

In 2019, the Grammy-winning singer dropped two songs: “Don’t Pull” and “A Day in Your Life.”

Michele’s last album, Out of Control, was released in 2018. The 11-track offering included songs like “Black Lives Matter” and “Strong Black Woman.”

Michele’s sophomore album, Epiphany, turned 15 in May. The LP, which was preceded by the Chuck Harmony-produced “Epiphany (I’m Leaving),” debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. It was Michele’s first time leading the popular albums list.

Mainly produced by Chuck Harmony, Epiphany included additional songwriting and production by Claude Kelly, Ne-Yo, and Darkchild.

Michele recently kicked off her Chrisette Michele Is Home Tour. She has upcoming stops in Philadelphia, St. Louis, and Chicago, with dates scheduled through January 2025. A full list of tour dates is available at chrisettemichele.com.
