Global icon Janet Jackson has announced an extension of her Janet Jackson: Las Vegas residency at Resorts World Theatre.
The six additional shows, promoted by AEG Presents Las Vegas, are scheduled to take place in May.
Jackson launched the first leg of her residency in late December 2024 with two sold-out performances at the 5,000-seat theater. The opening show on Dec. 30 had special guests in attendance, including filmmaker and playwright Tyler Perry and actress Tasha Smith.
After completing two more shows this month, Jackson will close out leg one with six shows in February, including on Valentine’s Day.
“There’s no better way to kick off the New Year than with the return of Janet Jackson in her exclusive residency at the award-winning Resorts World Theatre,” says Bobby Reynolds, senior vice president of AEG Presents Las Vegas.
“Having the opportunity to experience Janet cap off 2024 with back-to-back performances of her iconic hits over New Year’s Week was an unforgettable experience for her fans, and we look forward to having her showcase her unparalleled talents in a total of 12 more performances through this May.”
Tickets for the new shows go on sale Friday, Jan. 17, at 10 a.m. PT.
As indicated above, Jackson first announced her residency last summer with an initial 10-show schedule.
Janet Jackson: Las Vegas is the superstar’s first residency since Janet Jackson: Metamorphasis, where she performed 18 shows at Park Theater (now called Dolby Live) at Park MGM.
According to Billboard, Metamorphosis grossed $13 million, with 76,813 tickets sold.
Jackson’s new residency follows her multi-year Together Again Tour, which began in April 2023 and concluded in October 2024. The tour included support from Nelly, Ludacris, TLC, and Wyclef Jean.
