Lifetime has greenlit a new holiday movie, Christmas Everyday, starring Brandy Norwood and her daughter, Sy’Rai Smith.
The upcoming film, which premieres Nov. 29 at 8 p.m. ET, is named after Brandy’s 2023 festive track and is part of the network’s annual It’s a Wonderful Lifetime slate.
Brandy plays Francine “Fancy” Ballantine, a driven fashion designer balancing her career ambitions with family obligations. Sy’Rai, who will make her acting debut, plays Fancy’s sister. Debbi Morgan and Jeffrey Bowyer-Chapman will also appear in the film.
According to the logline, “Following the death of her father, Fancy (Brandy Norwood) has been more determined than ever to uphold her father’s cherished Christmas traditions as her mother Evelyn (Debbi Morgan) has also begun losing her sight. But things aren’t a smooth ride as Fancy simultaneously is planning her bridezilla baby sister Belle’s (Sy’Rai Smith) wedding.”
It continues, “When a water pipe bursts and disrupts the fairytale wedding plans, Fancy finds herself unexpectedly drawn to the rugged, yet charming, contractor Jaylen (Robert C Riley), who is tasked with renovating the house. Through all the chaos, she learns valuable lessons about faith, family, and the true meaning of Christmas.”

In addition to starring in Christmas Everyday, Brandy also serves as executive producer alongside Stella Bulochnikov, Dr. Holly Carter, and Ryan Ramsey. Fernando Szew, Hannah Pillemer, Larry Grimaldi and Adam Shepard are also executive producers on behalf of FOX Entertainment Studios.
Speaking on Christmas Everyday, Brandy shares, “The holidays are always about family as part of the festivities, so I’m beyond thrilled to be partnering with Lifetime on this magical holiday project and having my own daughter star with me – even though we are playing sisters! It’s a Wonderful Lifetime has become such a beloved tradition, and I’m honored to star and executive produce.”
Christmas Everyday will be directed by Roger Bobb and is based on a script co-written by Meg DeLoatch and Cameron Ross.
As mentioned above, the film’s title is inspired by Brandy’s “Christmas Everyday” from her holiday album, Christmas With Brandy, which was released in 2023 via Motown Records.
She co-wrote the record with its producers Adam Messinger and NASRI. The album featured a collaboration with Sy’Rai, who appeared on “Christmas Gift,” produced by TheRon “Neff-U” Feemster.
Acting projects aside, Brandy fans can look forward to seeing The Vocal Bible on her co-headlining The Boy Is Mine Tour with Monica. The highly anticipated R&B tour — with special guests Kelly Rowland, Muni Long and Jamal Roberts – kicks off Oct. 16 in Cincinnati and wraps up Dec. 14 in Jacksonville, Florida.
Additionally, she will release her new memoir PHASES in April 2026.
