Elijah Blake isn’t willing to let his relationship deteriorate before his eyes.

On his new self-penned single “Glass House,” Blake seeks clarity from his partner amid a rough patch. Part of him wants to find a solution to keep their union afloat, while deep down, he wonders if there’s a future between them.

“Maybe I could have treated you better / Better days are in the past now / We’re throwing stones in a glass house / Are we falling outta love? / Should I be worried?” he croons.

Despite the vulnerable lyrics, the song’s production — helmed by Blake and Roark Bailey — levels the mood with bright instrumentation reminiscent of Tamia‘s “Can’t Get Enough.”

“Glass House” will appear on Blake’s upcoming album, The Gemini, which releases Jan. 16, 2026, via RKeyTek Music/MNRK Records.

Speaking on “Glass House,” Blake exclusively tells Rated R&B, “At some point in all relationships, communication and accountability meet a crossroad and you have to acknowledge multiple truths can be valid at once. For this project, I’ve been obsessed with juxtaposition, so in true Gemini fashion, I wanted to write a heart-wrenching song over a bed of what some would consider to be a backyard barbecue / 2-step bounce.”

He continues, “To me, that’s what real love felt like at the time… rocky but not so sad, not all good but not all bad. When you’re in it, you somewhat get lost in the normalcy of it all, but outside looking in or in inside you come to find that everyone around you two saw it before the two in love saw each other.”

The Gemini will also include the previously shared tracks “Work It Out,” “White Rum” and “Shouldn’t Wanna Call.”

Regarding the latter, Blake explained, “‘Shouldn’t Wanna Call’ is about that space between closure and longing, when you know you shouldn’t look back, but your heart hasn’t caught up yet. It’s one of the most honest songs I’ve ever written.”

The Gemini is the follow-up to Blake’s 2024 album, elijah.
