“American Idol” alum and current “Biggest Loser” contestant Ruben Studdard returns to the R&B music scene as he gives us a fresh, sweet love ballad in his new record, “Meant To Be.” Studdard sings of lasting love in this single, the first from his upcoming “Unconditional Love” album.
The “Unconditional Love” album, slated to release in February 2014 via Verve Records, features a duet with Lalah Hathaway, along with Studdard recording some of the most prominent love songs from the Beatles, The Carpenters, Teddy Pendergrass and more.
“Meant To Be,” produced by David Foster, is one of two original songs on the album.
“Unconditional Love is my most romantic album yet,” Studdard said of the album. “I’ve wanted to record many of these love songs for a really long time. It’s the most heartfelt album I’ve ever recorded and includes many of my favorite songs from all different eras.”
