Music veteran Toni Braxton releases a revenging tune from the Toni Braxton & Babyface album, “Love, Marriage & Divorce.”
Feel the pain and let it burn. Toni Braxton crafts a powerful track that is raw, real and uncut. Who knew R&B could be so intense and unforgiving? Coming from a broken, cold heart of hurt and anger, Braxton sings a dark yet beautiful three-minute melody.
The gut-wrenching track was inspired by Braxton’s mom, Evelyn Braxton (Braxton Family Values), and her feelings toward her ex-husband (Braxton’s dad, Michael) after their divorce. The blunt track goes like this—“I hope she gives you a disease so that you will see…not enough to make you die, but only make you cry.”
Even though the lyrics sound so harsh, Braxton makes it sound so beautiful with her rich vocals soothing and diluting the morality of the strong lyrics. Braxton—without a doubt—penned an interesting hit, which is lifted from her joint album with Babyface, “Love, Marriage & Divorce,” in stores now.
This track is the perfect song to pop in after a heated argument—or a step further—a break-up with a lover. With that being said, this track should definitely come with a warning label such as “WARNING: it’s about to get real.”
