Trey Songz has not released a full album since his 2012 release, “Chapter V.” However, his dedicated “Angels” won’t have to wait longer for one either.
On Wednesday (Feb. 12), the “Love Faces” artist attended the Get Schooled Foundation event at New Era Academy in Baltimore, MD, where he acted as principal for the day. During his visit, he announced his sixth studio album is slated to release on June 30.
He titles the album “Trigga” after his nickname/alter ego, who occasionally raps. When asked by an interviewer if he would be rapping on the album, he answered, “I’ma be having fun on the album.” “There’s a lot of great records on there. I worked with a lot of great people and I’m still recording every day.”
Trey’s latest single, “Na Na,” has the Billboard charts on fire. The DJ Mustard-produced cut now stands at No. 13 on Billboard’s Hot R&B Songs, No. 21 on Billboard’s R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, and No. 80 on the Hot 100 chart.
