While Ashanti’s “Braveheart” album has disappeared from the Billboard 200 after only three weeks on the chart, she has no desires to abandon her promotional campaign. In effort to further spark conversation about her fifth studio effort, the “Foolish” artist chats with Idolator.com for seven questions.

Among the seven hard-hitting questions, she was asked about her decision to scrap the album’s first lead single “The Woman You Love” from the official track list. “I felt like I wanted to give a little more,” said Ashanti. “I felt like if people had already heard these [songs] it wouldn’t be as fair. I felt like I wanted to give them just a little bit more music because having the gap between 2008 and now, more music doesn’t hurt.”

The “Concrete Rose” songbird later cleared up the confusion about her multiple album covers that surfaced. “They were promo shots,” she confessed. “I just let the blogs run with it because I never officially, ever said ‘here is my album cover’ until my album cover.”

In regards to her follow-up single to the stand-alone lead “I Got It,” she states the iTunes R&B charts has picked it. “I think it’s going be “Early in the Morning” featuring French Montana,” said Ashanti.

Watch the full interview below and hear what Ashanti had to say about her releasing an album independently, naming her company Written Entertainment and how “Braveheart” evolved over time.
