Trey Songz is putting in work for his “Trigga” album. After dropping his new song “Foreign,” the “Unusual” singer supplies his fans with another new track titled “Change Your Mind.”
On “Change Your Mind,” the Virginia-bred crooner channels two different voices of two well-known male artists. On the chorus, Songz’s voice sounds almost identical to R&B legend R. Kelly. “Are you ready to win?/come join the winning circle/put up your hands for me baby/and do it like we’re suppose to/because we’re going win,” coos the “I Gotta Make It” singer.
Then on each verse, he spits a nice 16 bars. However, his lyrical delivery mimics the style of Queens MC 50-Cent.
NEW SONG: Trey Songz – ‘Foreign’
It’s not clear where he was going with this song, but it’s a major curve ball from the sound of his previous releases “Na Na,” “SmartPhones” and “Foreign.” Nonetheless, it goes without question that his “Angels” will enjoy the new song as they await the arrival of “Trigga,” which is set to release on July 1.
