Just three years after her death, a Whitney Houston biopic is officially in the works.
The highly anticipated film will be directed by famed actress Angela Bassett, according to Variety. Tentatively titled “Whitney Houston,” the Lifetime Original Movie will follow the iconic singer’s relationship with Bobby Brown.

Bassett shared her excitement about her big project. “I have such regard for both Whitney’s and Bobby’s amazing talents and accomplishments; and I feel a responsibility in the telling of their story,” said Bassett in a statement. “Their humanity and bond fascinates us all. I’m beyond excited to have this opportunity to go behind the camera and into their world.”
“Whitney Houston,” the film, is set to premiere in 2015.
