Aloe Blacc has proved to everyone this year why he’s “the man.” From scoring a top ten single (“The Man”) on the Hot 100 chart to having his album “Lift Your Spirit” debut in the top five of the Billboard 200, he realizes there is still work to be done.
The soul crooner visited “The Queen Latifah Show” on Tuesday (June 3) as part of his promotional campaign for his new project. Dressed in a dark violet blazer and sporting a black fedora, the dapper crooner sang a confident rendition of “The Man.” In addition to having the crowd moving, he had Queen Latifah rocking out too.
Before the curtains closed, Blacc returned for an encore performance of “Love Is The Answer” lifted from his new album. He brought the same amount of energy to this new song as he did for his performance to his DJ Khalil-produced single.
According to last week’s edition of Chart Check, his album “Lift Your Spirit” sprung from No. 154 to No. 91 on the Billboard 200. While Blacc’s performance on “The Queen Latifah Show” won’t affect this week’s chart positions, it should definitely impact them next week.
