R&B/pop artists are heating up the Billboard charts this summer and we’re following the action with our latest edition of Chart Check. We updated fans on Mariah Carey’s second week sales for her 14th studio effort “Me. I Am…The Elusive Chanteuse.” A new British sensation earns his first top ten single on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Meanwhile, Kelly Price’s album “Sing/Pray/Love/ Vol: 1: Sing” in the top ten of the R&B Albums chart. We see which male and female R&B veterans achieve top 20 singles on the Billboard Adult R&B Songs chart. While there aren’t any R&B albums in the top ten this week, we have Michael Jackson’s and Mariah Carey’s latest projects in the top 20.
Even with 25,358 album copies sold last week, the King of Pop’s second posthumous album “Xscape” falls from No. 7 to No. 12. Although, Carey’s 14th studio album “Me. I Am Mariah… The Elusive Chanteuse” debuted at No. 3 last week, the new studio effort drops to No. 18 after selling 16,090 copies. The album’s total sales equal 74,517 units sold to date.
Pharrell’s album “G I R L” will be certified gold soon. Stationed at No. 21 for a second week, the superstar’s second album sold 13,871 last week, totaling 425,624 album copies counted to date.
“Talk Dirty” by Jason Derulo resides at No. 28 for another week after selling 9,410 copies last week. He has sold 107, 496 copies of the album to date.
John Legend’s album “Love in the Future” holds down the top 40 this week at No. 30. His fourth soul collection tallied 8,969 units last week, which makes the total 529,934.

Ranking at No. 2 for a third week in a row is Ariana Grande’s Iggy Azalea assisted single “Problem.”
Jason Derulo’s “Wiggle” lifts five spots to No. 5. The Ricky Reed produced banger becomes the “Ridin’ Solo” crooner’s fourth top five single on as a lead artist on this chart. His previous top five song “Talk Dirty” (peak:No.3) stands at No. 14 this week. The R&B/pop superstar’s third Hot 100 entry floats from No. 87 to No. 56 in its second week.
While Derulo scores another top five single, British soul artist Sam Smith achieves his first top ten single. His enchanting ballad “Stay With Me” flies from No. 19 to No. 10 in its ninth week on the chart. Smith’s other Hot 100 entry, “I’m Not The Only One” opens at No. 69.
Michael Jackson’s “Love Never Felt So Good” finds itself at No. 29 after spending last week at No. 27. The song has peaked at No. 9.
Usher’s first single “Good Kisser”off his forthcoming album retreats three spots to No. 75. The song has only peaked at No. 70, which is the position the Pop & Oak produced cut debuted at five weeks ago.

“It’s My Time” by R&B veteran Kelly Price settles in at No. 5 for the another week. Following right behind Price’s joyful track is Joe’s smooth mid-tempo ballad “Love & Sex (Part 2)” featuring mother-to-be Kelly Rowland.
While Ledisi’s “I Blame You” chills at No. 7, her new emotional driven single “Like This” springs from No. 21 to No. 15 in its fifth week.
Tank’s new single “You’re My Star” re-occupies the No. 9 position after spending last week at No. 10.
Robin Thicke’s new ballad “Get Her Back” is itching to enter the top 10 of the Adult R&B Songs chart, as it stands at No. 11 (last week: No. 14). Thicke recently announced his new album would be titled after his wife, Paula Patton.
Calvin Richardson’s sensual new single “We Gonna Love Tonite” caps off the top 20 after rising from No. 24 last week. In Rated RnB’s recent interview with Richardson, he mentioned he had to re-word the song’s lyrics due to the original version being overly explicit for radio.
After debuting at No. 27, Toni Braxton and Babyface’s third single “Roller Coaster,” off their album “Love, Marriage & Divorce” moves six spots to No. 21 in week two.

Meanwhile, Derulo’s chart-topper “Talk Dirty” featuring 2 Chainz rests at No. 4 for another week.
Michael Jackson’s and Trey Songz’ latest singles remain in their exact same spots from last week. “Love Never Felt So Good” by Jackson with Timberlake sits still at No. 6 for another week. Songz’ “Na Na” stays at No. 7 after peaking No. 6 weeks ago.
Last week, Tinashe experienced her first top ten single on the R&B Songs chart with “2 On” climbing to No. 10. This week, her ScHoolBoy Q assisted single moves up one spot to No. 9.
