Ariana Grande has officially released her new single “Break Free” to radio and online formats from her second studio album “My Everything.”
Yesterday, Ariana Grande owned it on her “Total Ariana Live” (TAL) on MTV, a spin off of “Total Request Live” (TRL). With her debut performance of “Break Free” on TAL, she now releases the official audio for the pulsating track. After declaring that she has one less problem to worry about with her previous charted hit “Problem,” Grande is now ‘breaking free’ and saying “this is the part when I say I don’t want it, I’m stronger than I’ve been before.” Grande has already shot a visual for the track, which was inspired by the 1960s sci-fi movie “Barbarella.”
“It’s inspired by Jane Fonda in ‘Barbarella’ and ‘Star Wars’ and space,” reveals the 21-year-old in an interview with Ryan Seacrest. “It’s more throwback, campy.”
The electrified track, produced by Zedd and Max Martin, will definitely be a contender for summer anthem of the year. The day before her “My Everything” album release, due out Aug. 25, the singer will perform “Break Free” at the MTV Video Music Awards in Los Angeles.
