Leela James Teams With Rated R&B for ‘R&B Divas’ Blog Series: ‘Say That’

Rated R&B is excited to announce our newest contributor: R&B/soul singer Leela James! The California native, who stars on season two of TVOne’s hit reality show “R&B Divas: LA,” has teamed with Rated R&B to provide her commentary on each episode.

In episode three, the drama continued behind Chanté Moore’s female anthem with Leela James, Lil’ Mo, and Chrisette Michele. The divas seem to be concerned about how the process of creating the song is going. Michele suggested that they talk things out through counseling.

Check out Leela James’ blog post below:

Not a day in my life have I ever seen a pink elephant in anyone’s room so I have no words on the whole thought of it. I’m from the school of – you see a problem, deal with it, squash it, and move on. Basically, stomp it like a roach and keep it moving. All this holding on to stuff is crazy. For the record, I have no problem with therapy or seeing a therapist, I just believe it’s not needed for every situation.

Sometimes in life people can have the same goals, but just different approaches to attaining them. As they say, “different strokes for different folks,” and it’s all love. Yin and Yang make the world go around.

On another note. Communication is key to any healthy relationship, and my advice to some people is… say what you mean, and mean what you say. Be CLEAR with what you want upfront when doing business, so there’s no room for confusion or error, and always take accountability for your actions, whether good or bad. Flipping the script is never good. I don’t believe anyone had a problem singing background if they KNEW UPFRONT that’s what they were going to do.

Most of all, don’t sweat the small stuff, when life throws you lemons, make lemonade and keep pushing because life is too short to worry about some petty bullswanky. To me, some of this is unnecessary drama.
