On April 28, the song made its debut on the radio chart at No. 49 with only 48 total radio spins. The Mary J. Blige-assisted version plays a part in the success of “Stay With Me” on the urban adult contemporary radio chart.
In addition to the chart-topping success on urban AC radio, the British artist’s soulful single stands at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
This Sunday (Aug. 24), Smith will grace the stage at the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards. He joins the previously announced performers including Beyoncé, Ariana Grande and Usher.
