K. Michelle, one of the hardest working female R&B artists, is hoping to take over the R&B scene once again. In a recent interview with Rap-Up TV, the “Sometimes” artist disclosed details on her sophomore album.
The Memphis native describes her untitled and “basically done” album as “absolutely amazingly scary good, juicy, yummy.” With the impending music collection, the singer wanted created a body of work that was different than her first album. “I wanted to make sure coming back that — before snatching these girls’ wigs- I had to make sure that I snatched it in a manner of musicality and I wanted people to know that I am a musician,” she told Rap-Up TV. “This album is so musical. I feel like it’s so ahead of its time.”
Instead of going with the today’s hottest ‘beat-makers,’ she recruits her debut album collaborators Eric Hudson (“Damn” and “Hate on Her”) and Pop & Oak (“V.S.O.P.”) for the bulk of her forthcoming album. Michelle even enlists Timothy Bloom, an artist and musician that she says, “I’ve always admired.”
K’s upcoming album will also feature a country duet with an unknown artist. In addition, she plans on releasing the first single from the album in the next two or three weeks.
