After scoring a top five hit with “Whole Damn Year,” Mary J. Blige chooses her uplifting anthem “Doubt” as the next single from The London Sessions album.
Penned by Blige and Sam Romans, the moving tune explores the trials and tribulations we face in life and how we overcome them.
In an interview with FADER, Blige shared her thoughts on the song. “‘Doubt” is something that so many people deal with,” said Blige. “There’s this voice in their head telling them, ‘You won’t do this, and you won’t do that.’ But they beat the doubt by proving that they’re stronger than what the doubt was saying. They can be successful, they can win, and they can be whatever they want to be.”
The song will impact urban and urban AC radio formats on February 17, according to All Access. Blige will perform “Doubt” at the 2015 BET Honors, which airs on Feb. 23 at 9 p.m.
