It’s been a while since we’ve heard any new music R&B songstress Tamia. The singer just premiered a new song called “Beautiful Surprise,” produced by Salaam Remi and written by Tamia and Claude Kelly. The mid-tempo title track is the lead single from her upcoming fifth studio album.
Tamia gets personal on the heartfelt track by expressing her love for her beautiful surprises which includes her husband Grant Hill.
“Ooh, aah, so happy that I could cry/What a beautiful surprise….Ooh, Aah…my man is back by my side/What a beautiful surprise,” Tamia sings.
“Beautiful Surprise” is scheduled to hit radio next week and will be available for download soon. Tamia’s new album is slated for a June release, and will be released via her own label, Plus 1 Music Group.
“Beautiful Surprise” reminds me of “So Into You” for some reason. I guess it’s the underlying theme of the song or maybe it’s because both tracks makes me feel good. Anyways, Tamia’s return to music is indeed a ‘beautiful surprise.’ Not to mention, her vocals are still strong and on point. It’s refreshing to hear a singer who can actually sing. Many R&B singers have crossed over to the pop side and became lazy, relying heavily on pitch-correcting software. But Tamia, gives us real, raw vocals. I’m looking forward to her new album in June.
