After experiencing a nightmare rollout of his Late Nights: The Album, Jeremih has returned to the studio to work on his follow-up LP. The Chicago native spoke with Billboard about his upcoming project, which is tentatively titled Later That Night. The new album will complete his ‘Late Night’ trilogy.
“Late Nights: The Album — I’m glad the world has finally soaked it in, and is marinating in it, but you best believe I have a whole other late night coming for you real soon: Later That Night,” he said. “I gave them the mixtape, I dropped the album — now I want to give them a complete trilogy of work.”
Jeremih’s Late Nights: The Album was spontaneously released on Dec. 4, 2015 via Def Jam Recordings. The album, which was packed with flavorful R&B tunes including “Planes” and “Oui,” debuted at No. 42 on the Billboard 200.
In other news, Jeremih has been working with Kanye West on his highly anticipated album Waves. “I’m not sure really where he’s at with his album right now, or if he’s actually going to use the work that we’ve done — but if he doesn’t use it, I sure will.”
