Maxwell has unveiled the visual for his comeback single “Lake By The Ocean,” which was directed by Philip Andelman.
The 43-year-old crooner says the video “depicts a world in need of water and two clandestine lovers who meet with liquid dreams, one being the bare boned need for clean water, and another, the performer, who wants to be lost in the watery worlds of love and devotion.”
“Lake By The Ocean” is the lead single from Maxwell’s upcoming album, blackSUMMERS’night, which releases on July 1. The song is currently at No. 2 on urban AC radio.
On June 28, Maxwell will perform at the BET Awards. A few days later, on July 1, he will headline Essence Festival.
