R&B veteran Brandy was honored with the prestigious Lady of Soul Award at the 2016 Soul Train Music Awards. With over 40 million records sold, Brandy has had a longstanding presence in the music industry and has made an undeniable impact on pop culture.
Jill Scott, who was honored with the Lady of Soul Award in 2015, presented the award to Brandy.
“I don’t really have the words to express what this means,” said Brandy in her acceptance speech. “This is so humbling. I just want to thank God for this moment and anyone who had anything to do with this moment.”
Brandy also graced the stage to perform some of her hits. Dressed in an all black ensemble Brandy performed her classics songs including “Almost Doesn’t Count,” “What About Us,” “Full Moon,” “Baby,” “I Wanna Be Down” and “Top of the World” with special guest Ma$e.
