Multi-platinum producer Teddy Riley received the Legend Award at the 2016 Soul Train Awards, which aired on Sunday night. Dubbed “The King of New Jack Swing,” Riley has produced countless number one hits for music icons such as Michael Jackson. His major accolade contributes to Jackson’s eighth album, Dangerous, which has sold 32 million copies worldwide.
Riley is also a founding member of the multi-platinum Grammy-winning group Blackstreet and a member of the group Guy, which became a multi-platinum group.
After delivering a powerful acceptance speech, Riley took the stage to perform some hits he produced, such as Johnny Kemp’s “Just Got Paid,” Wreckx-n-Effect’s “Rump Shaker” and Michael Jackson’s “Remember The Time.” He also reunited with Guy on stage for the first time in years.
