In February, we revealed that Bobby Brown would be releasing an album in the summer. Well, the time is near. The 43-year-old singer is set to release his fifth studio album, “The Masterpiece,” on June 5. The album, which features appearances by New Edition members Johnny Gill and Ralph Transvant, serves as a follow-up to Brown’s “Forever” album which was released nearly 14 years ago.
The crooner’s upcoming album is said to be inspired from his trials and tribulations he’s experienced over the years such as his drug addiction and the death of his ex-wife Whitney Houston.
“I simply wanted to create a body of work that will take listeners on a musical journey; the style of music that will allow people to get in touch with their highs and lows and their joys and pain of living through song,” said Brown. “At the same time, I am hoping to bridge the gap between good old R&B and R&B of today.” [source]
Brown, who is currently touring with New Edition, recently visited BET’s “106 & Park” to premiere the visuals to “Don’t Let Me Die,” the lead single from “The Masterpiece.”
